Buried Prejudice

I thought this article from Scientific American was interesting. However, I think that some stereotypes can keep you safe (though there are always exceptions). Things like, if someone looks creepy and is dressed shabbily (to the point where you feel uncomfortable), they might want to rob you, so get away quickly. There is most likely a reason you feel uncomfortable. It would be silly to start ignoring stereotypes and on-the-fly categorizations like this, even if they might not always be fair.
